2024 Cummins QSK50-DPM EPA Tier 4 Final QSK50 1,500 hp (1,118 kWm) @ 1,200 RPM
Cummins’ QSK50 Tier 4 Final drilling power modules have been developed to meet the stringent measures introduced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Tier 4 Final emission standards, in comparison to Tier 3 and Tier 2, represent a significant step towards reducing nitrous oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM). Indeed, the QSK50 Tier 4 Final drilling power module produces 45% less nitrous oxides and 85% less particulate matter than its Tier 2 predecessor.
Building on the legendary K50 and subsequent Tier 2 QSK50 drilling power modules, the QSK50 EPA Tier 4 final drilling power modules are designed, developed, assembled and tested inhouse by Cummins. Every component from the engine to the alternator is built to provide optimum performance, reliability, and versatility for oil and gas drilling applications.
The QSK50 Tier 4 Final engine uses the Cummins MCRS Fuel System technology to deliver four ratings from 1,500bhp (1,119kWm) at 1,200rpm and 1,900bhp (1417kWm) at 1800rpm, while meeting US EPA Tier 4 Final Emissions standards. These engines are coupled with a form-wound alternator sized for drilling rig service with electrical ratings from 1,000kWe to 1,300kWe at 60Hz.
The complete drilling power module package is backed by Cummins service network and warranty, ensuring greater uptime availability and increased rig efficiency.
